A simple homemade camping chair. An extremely compact and light weight chair. It does require poles cut at the camp site though. I used 5oz nylon for the material. Canvas would be bulkier and heavier but would work. In the past, feed sacks were even used by cutting slits in the side near the bottom of the sack to slip the pole through. I usually cut a notch in the side poles and lash the seat pole up a little higher using the notches to make a "deeper" seat. Enjoy!

  • Perfect, thanks I was looking for just these instructions! Can you make me one to save me the trouble?

  • @lkjlkjlkdsfdslkfjdlk I made you the video wasn't that enough. :-) Seriously though, sorry but I am much too busy to be able to make these for others. they really are quite easy to make though. I'm not the first to make these so you might find someone else making them for sale on the internet

  • @TheAppleFtw Thanks

  • Nice work :)

  • @vek0zzzz Ease in standing up is important especially as we all get older and thee ole joints get stiffer. But with this chair and it's cross piece it is better to sit lower to the ground to reduce the pressure of the back of your legs on the cross stick. It's not too bad getting out of because the side poles are in a handy position to grab with the hands to lend help in pushing yourself up.

  • I think with a little longer tripod or shorter sack will be better ,because you will be sitting a little bit higher and you will stand up easier.
