@cheradinine8 With all due respect, Eisenstein's movies are masterpieces -- and as far as I know Prokofiev wrote the music to only two of them. While "Alexander Nevsky" has aged a little bit, "Ivan the Terrible" is still an amazing psychological drama. Partially thanks to Prokofiev's score (oh yeah, and he didn't make a suite out of this one).

@vladdrac88 - ironic, ain't it? Imagine if Prokofiev had been called before that idiot McCarthy and forced to answer whether he had ever been associated with any communist party or members. Of course he was associated with them in Russia or he would have been croaked by Stalinist hoods. But that don't mean he was a friggin commie. Whatever his politics, the guy was a damn good composer.



Film composer John Williams is a derivative of Prokofiev, Mcdonaldized for the huddled masses.
