Joseph Alessi is Principal Trombone of the New York Philharmonic and a National Brass Symposium Artist. We caught up with Joe backstage at Avery-Fisher Hall just before a concert of Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra with the Philharmonic. After playing an excerpt of a duet for trombone and double bass (written by an orchestra colleague), he talks a bit about what he's looking forward to at this year's Symposium.
