@JennnGilmore Thank you JennnGilmore, Most people just don't understand, as they say you really have to walk in our shoes for an hour or so. Jarrod has taken a turn for the worse. Another doctor harmed him by shoving a feeding tube into his lung, thereby puncturing and collapsing his lung. Then a piece of tube stayed in his lung and he ended up having major surgery to remove the piece of tube and needed a tracheostomy. He's amazing though, he has already learned to make sounds around the trach!!

Of course no one would want to put their own parent through additional work. Last I checked, medical maltreatment is a felony. Lisa Itse is doing what she knows how to do - care for her son. It's not the ideal situation - I'll give you that - but it's the card that she's been dealt. Caring for a child with additional needs is difficult at times but it is the most joyous thing I or anyone in my shoes can do. Smiles speak volumes.

@bazberner Dear bazberner, I think that's a great idea. It's wonderful that you have a family that can communicate so well. One thing that most people don't realize, is that Jarrod breaths on his own. So we don't use "extraordinary measures" to keep him alive. But it is still hard because even the simplist chores like dressing and bathing have to be done for him and with medical awareness and care so we don't make him sick or in pain. @TickleMehNancy THEY DON'T, THEY JUST SAID IT TO GET MONEY, NO ONE EVER KNOWS WHEN PEOPLE ARE LIKE THAT, WHY WASTE MONEY ON KEEPING SOMEONE IN THAT STATE ALIVE, its not fair on them or the normall people as they state with the bills ect???????
