One of my favourite films starring the talented French actress Jeanne Moreau. Feel free to comment, rate, etc !

Julie Kohler (Jeanne Moreau) has loved David since they were children. They get married, but her beloved husband is killed on the stairs of the church, immediately after their wedding ceremony. After trying to commit suicide, the young widow pretends to leave the town. Actually she stays and chases the five men who are responsible for Davids death.

Song: Prelude (On Earth as in Heaven), Globus.

Lyrics:

On earth as in heaven
We will be strong together
On earth as in heaven
We will be untethered
No martyr can ever
Divide our beating hearts

On earth as in heaven
Your beauty, forever
The sunrise inside me
Calls out to you in mourning

How I hold on
Free from ever
Feeling your life
Touch me from heaven

On earth as in heaven
My soul needs you
But can your heart answer
Afraid you'd be part to
Consent to seal our kingdom

How I hold on
Free from ever
Seeing your light
Touched you, so loved you

On earth as in heaven
Your beauty is forever
No martyr can ever
Divide our beating hearts

  • Why you putting ugly present-era (ugly era) music over a great period and beautiful film?

  • please read my comment below, it applies to your harsh language

  • The music Bernard Herrmann composed for this masterpiece was a masterpiece. You've ruined it with ths drivel rap crap!

  • Well, as they say, "each to hiw own", and I understand that some people like it and some others don't, and I always welcome comments -- either good or bad. Personally, I love Bernard Herrmann's music very much, but I simply wanted to create a video tribute with another kind of music. Anyway, thanks for giving your opinion -- even though you are not really gentle with words ;)

  • At first sight, this plot seem an old-fashioned, but I think that is a universally theme. Probably if contemporary Hollywood take a similar roman, surely success.

And Jeanne Moreau was beauty even couldn't see this story as vegeance. Perhaps Truffaut couldn't draw her as revenger because he had too tender different from Lang.

Also the last scene is so superb inspiration! Is this your original?

In the slightest doubt, your recent works are being progressed!

  • thanks for your comment; I'm glad to read it, as usual. Well, Jeanne Moreau does take her revenge in the film, but I didn't want to include spoilers in my tribute so you don't see her actually avenge her husband. The last scene featured in my video is not the original, it's situated at about the 2/3 of the film.
