Stolen BMW 1M Coupe in less than 3 minutes

BMW 1M stolen without keys in 3 minutes! This is a video of an 1ADDICTS member's £43,000 BMW 1M being stole at 3am in 3 minutes. The thief's accessed the car's OBD port in the footwell by breaking the glass, reaching in and using a device to reprogram a blank key fob. The car was simply then unlocked and pushed off the drive and driven away. This theft was part of a recent BMW theft spree which has seen 300 BMWs stolen in March 2012 in a single UK county.

BMW has just released a software upgrade for affected X5 and X6 models. Software updates for other affected models will be available in approximately 8 weeks.

A BMW spokesman confirmed that the upgrade will be carried out by dealers free of charge. Owners with affected cars should contact their BMW UK dealers or call BMW's UK hotline on 0800 083 4397.

How do they gain access to the motor & the port to plug in the re-writing device??

Surely if the glass is broken it would immediatly sound an alarm,no? ORRR is they a time delay for recovery/lost keys purposes??? blow the window out and you got 60 seconds to plug it up

I only drive plug in vehicles so there is DEFINITELY no jealousy and I certainly wouldn't pay that much for one of those SHITBOXES and I do work very hard but I still LOVE LOVE LOVE the thieves even if they came in and killed my whole family.
