for Ya'll who are "slow" --from the CENTER of the crank to the top of the seat FRAME where you insert the seat tube ...or where the color ends on your bike frame , or just take out the seat tube...and you cant miss, LMAO
------------------good how to man!!---------------------
-
@backpackcamera he said to the top of the seat TUBE you nitwit!!
-
how the man says, THAT'S IT!!!!
-
@asnac to the base of the seat post, obviously as the seat post is adjustable in height you are not going to measure the seat post - measure to where the frame meets the seat post
-
This is very helpful thanks... but it's time for you guys to join the rest of the world METRIC
Why did you do the x2.54 instead of just measuring it in CM to start with LOL
-
@asnac Where the frame ends you numpty!
-
Found a video that is much clearer - search for ymORrL8R8nM
-
But where on the tube do you measure it to - what does 'top' mean? You're very generous in making and uploading this but the key question is still unclear.

Thanks, Very useful with all these old steel frames i have!

Thank you so much for making this video - I'm sending a link to the eBay seller when I make the query about frame size.
Sorry, I am not Joe. My name is Rob. Personally, I can't stand hearing my own voice, but it's the only one I have. Glad I could help.

No, it's not custom. It's a 1990 Trek 1000. It came in many sizes including 54, 56, 58cm, etc.

@fu3ymip1 Search for my page titled "Find the model year of your Trek bike" at my BicycleBikes (dot) com site. I describe how I figured out the year of my Trek 1000.
