McGurk Effect

Psychological effect first described by Harry McGurk and John MacDonald. There are already a few videos about this, but none that had my favourite example, so I made my own.

The mcgurk effect isnt as clear for me as it is for most people.. not sure what that says about my speech perception.. =)

As a side interest mostly, I took a class in it this year.

I'm surprised there don't seem to be more people weakly affected by it like you. Usually there's a lot of variability with illusions, but this one seems pretty robust. Even while I was editing the video and seen it probably about 20 times, it still was clear for me.

i listen to a lot of hip hop and play music so my ears are developed. and i wear glasses so my eyes are pretty shitty. i listened/ watched this knowing what it was suppose to infer while listening to what it sounds like.
