Is the oil beginning to run out? Shot over 4 years in 13 countries this film uncovers the myths surrounding the future of world oil supplies. Featuring 30 of the world's experts on both sides of the debate, we lift the lid on the Peak Oil theory whether oil production is about to fall. We travel to the Middle East to find out how much oil they really have, exposing evidence that they may be exaggerating by up to 50%. We meet the men who believe that oil prices are about to bankrupt all of us and their evidence is terrifying: theres barely any oil left to find. We look back to the 70s, when we were first warned about this problem and we examine what can be done to prevent a global economic catastrophe. Can we escape our addiction to oil? Are we just going to deny the problem until it kills us?

  • No. Oil prices are set by something called "the market" OPEC are basically all pumping at their maximum possible production. You idiot.

  • Watch the film.. Amazondotcodotuk it answers the tar sands/ green question.. Peak oil is about rates of production and liquid fuels.

  • The tag line is very misleading. We are not running out of oil. We have used about half. The problem is the cost and energy required to get the rest out get higher and higher now. You cannot increase production, that will stay flat and then go down (this is Hubbard's peak). Comsumption may have dipped a little in the recession, but it is sure to go up due to increased demand in developing countries. Producing countries are also using more and more of their own oil and so have less to export.

  • Thanks... Though it does say "Is the oil beginning to run out?" and then go on to explain peak oil... Buy the DVD on amazon dot co dot uk, you might enjoy it..

  • @rider4343 What you haven't mentioned is that tar-sand gasoline costs $10 a gallon!

  • MICHAEL RUPPERTS FILM COLLAPSE EXPLAINS THIS . WE ARE IN BIG TROUBLE

  • @raydesut I don't think it's misleading at all; there is a finite amount of oil, since we have used about half, duh, then it's running out. Even more to the point, the AVAILABLE oil is really running out fast; in fact, all the cheap easy to get oil is gone...cheers.
