@kb64tn13 Just by looking at how TTUMIT made the cell and reading of you problem, make sure you are using plastic screws with plastic spacers in order for plates not to be connected all together, rather have a pattern on + - + - +
-
@kb64tn13 Why you using distilled water ,use just usual water ?
-
@kb64tn13 2 teaspoons electrolyte= way to much for a tiny cell like that

Another way you could probably attach that wire is to place a nut on the end of the bolt part way down then place the wire on it and put another nut on it. Or even place the wire under the bolt head, and use one nut or spacer.

just becuase the wires red doesnt mean red has to b posotive

One of the two wires is the negative. Sorry about the color coding, I'm sure that's confusing. All I had at the time was red wires. So one wire will go to the negative terminal and the other will go to the positive terminal of the power source.

Where do you hook up the negative wire? All i saw was the 2 positives... I'm kinda new to this whole thing!
thanks

Thank you so much!!!

How do you ensure a good connection to the center plate when you are using 5 plates? I plan on building one of these. Thanks

great video... i was thinking about doing a spiral wire set up but i like the plate better... after your video, i think i will redo it with plates and neutral plates to drop my voltage for heat management. thanks.
Hey man just needed a little help. I have made the same exact design as you show here. I am using 2 heaping teaspoons of baking soda and 10 gage wire running from the unit to the battery. No matter what I do placing the positive on the battery the wire smokes or the 30amp fusable link it blows it after about 15 secs. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. I am using distilled water and plate from home depot. Am I possible adding to much baking soda which is causing this? Please Help!!!

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Just from your description, sounds like you may be using to much baking soda. It's surprising just how little you actually need per a given amount of water. I think I used 1/2 teaspoon of Baking soda in my container that I built. I guessing that it was holding around a quart of distilled water. The baking soda can really jump up the amps pretty quick. If you find that the water is getting hot too, think about adding some neutral plates. That may really help.

hello, i enjoyed your video. i would like to build a 7 or 9 plate cell generator. how does the polarity go when you add these extra neutral plates? this confuses me. thanks

Good Question, From what I undserstand, the Netural plates are not connected to anything, neither - or +. They just go inbetween your plates that are usually connected + or -. I think the main reason for them is too encourage a voltage drop between plates, thereby reducing the heat generated in the cell. Just imagine your current cell with extra non connected plates in between your + and - ones

What is the advantage of 5 plates over 4?
HHOO instead of HHO?

There's really not a big difference between the two. Technically the one extra plate allows for that much more surface area to produce either the Hydrogen or Oxygen (depending on how you wire it).
