@yuch1102 Menke Bateer is not a han-Chinese, and he is the first true ethnic Chinese nba player with the ring. Doesn't mean if you are Black-American, you are not a true American.

obviously he would get a ring. the players would just feel terrible if everyone got a ring except the third string players.

sun yue was not the first chinese guy to have a ring, menke bateer at the spurs had a ring in 2005.

@DarkStarEdd eh it's not necessarily they need to make their players better. In the end they are backups for a reason and at some points not even scheduled to suit up. However, players like Steve Kerr surfaced because of such competition and luck at times too (coaching and how likeable you are as a person) I'm sure Sun is very talented just that he's on a championship caliber team. If he was on the bucks he would be a sixth man.

yes he got waived, but that happened during July of 2009, after Laker's championship win. He is the first ethnic Chinese basketball player to win an NBA championship :).
According to wikkipedia. "Since Sun Yue is no longer in the NBA, the Lakers said they planned to ship his championship ring to him. "
