  • best intro to a song in history!

  • @BarefeetBob yeah, not that hard, blazes blues, my starter won't start, talkin' thunderbird blues, flyin' shoes, etc etc etc

  • @Tshea13 almost as much as he's starting to look like Allen Ginsberg :)

  • @chumpthedog LOL, that was a revelation for me too, almost lost my mind as jimmy buffet said once in God's Own Drunk..."so simple, like the jitterbug, it plumb evaded me"

  • sounds like alians from outer space cuttin a fart

  • "The kid"

  • @resonatorplate listen to the lyrics. i realize townes himself said it was about bell, but the lyrics can be applied to other thing, like all of townes's lyrics (almost) they are open to interpretation. the song is pretty descriptive of the man himself as well

  • @probinson1337 it's on 'live at the old quarter', which was recorded in houston in 1972 and released in '77. it's one of the best live townes albums out there. you should check it out.

  • @jgguerin I don't think Steve knows himself, it's like Rex never getting to perform Rex's Blues wit the band I think I think (and I think that Townes thought) that this song was too special ever to be put on vinyl, just his deep personal connection with Rex, I know there are a few youtube recordings of Townes playing it but I'm not sure it was ever on an album released while he was still alive. He always kicked Rex offstage to perform this song.

  • @Tshea13 ahhaha good call, i jst noticed that
