Yes, his speech fell on deaf ears. After the speech he hosted a roundtable question and answer session, to which he had invited eight reporters, but several of the reporters refused to attend, after it was discovered, that one reporter was a Jew. Also, in later parts of the speech, he spoke of the importance of listening to the people-something that he himself refuses to do.
