Facts:
-deforesting 325.000 m² of Rainforest each year for plantations by burning
-18 % of greenhouse-gas-emissions, thats more than the whole global traffic
-methane produced by the 1.4 billion cattle heats the atmosphere just like 2 million tons of CO2
-20.000 litres of water and 32 pound of grain for 2 pound of beef while growing 2 pounds of potatoes only needs 450 litres of water
-698 animals killed per second for food while 11 children die of hunger every minute
-Mad Cow Disease, Bird-Flu, Swine-Flu etc caused by factory farming
-Happy Meat (Biofleisch) = Myth, labelled as happy meat just to say its without antibiotics and to make the costumer feel like having a good conscious but animals still suffer in slaughterhouses
-livestock mostly treated with disrespect and violence
-birds get their beaks, cattle get their horns and pigs get their teeth and tails docked (cut off) without painkillers to prevent (self-)mutilation caused by boredom and depressions
-birds, cows and pigs are mostly still conscious while being chopped

*Pigs are benumbed with gas and suffer during this, because of their anxiety to suffocate, sometimes they awake again while being dunked into boiling water for depilation - they drown or die of heart attacks
*Birds have their throats cut and mostly still feel everything, because the nerves are still intact; sometimes they are even shredded alive (this mostly happens to baby-birds)
*Cows are usually killed by captive-bolt-pistols but are also just dazed, because the unskilled workers miss the brain or just use too short bolts. So the cow feels with more than one bolt in the forehead the knife being stabbed in the cervical artery and bleeds to death

Livestock animals are smarter than you think. They have complicated social spheres, communicate with their languages, have individual characters, keep themselves and their environment clean and are caring and loving parents.

Pigs have the intelligence of a 3 year old child and are even smarter than dogs. They can remember their names and are even able to play computer games with joysticks (they even recognize their game-avatar).
Cows are very patient students while learning new things. They have very different traits and live in complicated hierarchies. They are caring mothers and recognize their calves even when they are grown up.
Birds are very social, affectionate and as smart as mammals. Chicken are sometimes clinging and they are able to make smart decisions. They even decide what kind of music they like. Ducks and Geese take time to suffer when a beloved companion died. If one of them gets injured while flying, some others stay with him to check if their friend is fine.

Actually it isn't expensive to go vegan or vegetrian - at least in Germany. If one would spend a bit of time on getting information about food and what's healthy and what not it is obvious how easily you can live without relying on animals. ;-)

You know why this meat is so cheap? The goverment subsidizes them to do this. Same with sugar. If you had to pay the real price for this meat. You wouldnt buy it. This is insane. We have all this technology. We have smart phones with gps and internet. Yet we humans contuine to do this. No. Im not a vegan infact I hunger for ribs. Yea. Im terrible. But because the goverment subsidizes these meats. Its to expsensive to go vegan. Just $300 for one weeks food for the 7 people in my family.
