  • This was the June 08 storm in Omaha. They called it the 50 year storm. I was in my car on Maple street when it gave me a direct hit. Winds measured down that corridor topped 110mph straight line. My car was blown into the grass. It was a wall of gray that hit like a tidal wave. I literally ducked in my car because the wind and hail came through so severly. The stop lights and electrical came down around me instantly and I knew there was trouble. :)

  • this was taken near 168th & Maple. A trailer from the harley davidson store blew across the street into the house and there were a lot of houses damaged> The house I was in did not get damaged

  • @Gyphia

Microbursts are awesome and pretty effing scary because unlike tornadoes which take some time to form and whatnot, microbursts just suddenly take the air and situation from basically still to pants-crappingly fierce and chaotic in an instant (I was in one back in 2003 and it went from perfectly still to full-on psychotic in about a second and a half. I noticed the tall trees across the street went from straight up to laying on the road without uprooting in that instant).

  • does anybody know about that horiable storm in Mesa?

  • Oh God I remember that storm

I am just 11 and i literaly pissed my pants.

and i do live in omaha
