@eVaNdaguitar If you watch again you'll notice the door only locks from the inside. If he ran through the door and shut it, the water pressure would push the door open and they'd all be screwed.

@poopieflys He wrote "Not Penny's Boat". Penny was dating Desmond (the guy on the other side of the door) and they thought she was coming to rescue them. The men on the boat were bad (they threw the grenade through the window) and Charlie was warning Desmond so he could escape. If I remember correctly. :)

@InLoVeWiThLaNgStOn well you should watch lost then cause its the best show on earth!! basically charlie was going to die no matter what so he was trying to get it over with before he died in a way that hurt someone else.
