  • what transmission are you running

  • Ford C-4 automatic with a 2200 rpm stall converter.

  • Nice rig. Why do you sometimes run with fenders and sometimes without? Thanks. --Jim.

  • Jim,

The Motorhead Mart Special is a dual purpose hot rod. I think the car looks better with fenders but they add about 200 lbs and slows the car down but I'll probably keep them. Joe

  • Thats one awsome flat head i think they look superb. It just chews its way down the 1/4mile. I want it.

  • The Motorhead Mart Special is street driven so it has a full cooling system. It has no problems with over heating and typically runs 100 degrees over ambient.

  • Not for Drag Racing, we'd just fill our blocks with plaster, plug up the heads and just have water in the heads alone. (But neither of these are our car, Flathead Obsession)

  • It does require a good cooling system. See my book "Blown Flathead" by Joe Abbin available everywhere.

  • I'm told the flathead is a bitch to keep cool is this true.

  • Right
