The 400L has interchangeable lenses for different applications. When wearing it on a headband for instance, one might want to install one medium or one standard and one wide. The 400L comes with two standard lensese (the tightest beam.) The optional lens kit includes one medium and one wide lens. It's best to find the lens combination that makes the most sense for you and leave it thie way versus changing them frequently. (changing once per season for sports is fine)
