Wayne Static Interview (With Gearwire)

Wayne talks about his old set-up before 'Cannibal.' In my opinion the flying V Epiphone was much better than the ESP; in terms of their image. What do you guys think?

@hearshotkid91 He's stated himself that he is very limited in the guitar front and cannot shred to save his life. In this video he is discussing his old equipment (before Cannibal). It did what it did and however you want to look at it, he had a lot of success with the MGs and Epiphone brand. Although I think his motivation for moving to ESP was simply monetary. It just doesn't fit his image! Get back your black flying V Wayne! ESP is for Children of Bodom and other bands unlike yours!

Epiphone IS Gibson (it's a subsidiary company). He no longer uses Gibson/Epiphone guitar brands now thanks to the deal he made with ESP.

No, he's never used anything by Jackson. His original guitar that he played was a Epiphone(Gibson) flying V. However, he sometimes on tour used the Epiphone Explorer, which was a similar model. Now he uses an ESP; he has never used MG.

what I like about what wayne makes a point about is that you don't have to be a shredder and have the most expensive gear to make music.

Wayne is awesome because he wants more of the feel of the music to come through. More concerned about HOW the songs sound that WHAT they are played with.

No, i genuinely believe that is the amp he actually plays. Ofcourse VH and Metallica would do that sort of thing but to be endorsed by such a shitty amp is embarrassing.
