Clark & Mcguinn briefly played as a mostly acoustic duo around this time and this here version of Dylan's song was captured live in New York' Bottom Line if my source is correct. R.I.P Gene Clark and if Mcguinn sees this, Mcguinn you are one of my favorite musicians of all time and I admire you as a person and entertainer. I love old folk songs and if you ever want to get together and help me record some do let me know ;P
Peace.

  • In my opinion, this is the best cover of this tune that I have heard.

  • The best of both worlds -Clark & McGuinn.

Gene's great voice with McGuinn's Rickenbacker.

Listen to the smooth harmonies !!

Amazing how such a beautiful sound can be produced by only 2 individuals !

Wish they had made a studio lp together.

    I miss you Gene !!

  • The voices of Gene Clark and Roger Mcguin were a perfect match. Much better then their performance with other singers. If Gene was still with us, he must have stayed working together with Roger Mcguin or just singing alone with his guitar

  • a hardy 2nd, may you live to be a hundred and be happy every day.

McGuinn and Clark were so good together. Hope he performs in the west coast sometime

  • Gene was really doing well at this point, Almost all of the shows Mcguinn and Clark played at this time were the best that each had done for a long time. Gene's d&a probs just ate this amazingly talented man up. I love their verson of this it's the best i've ever heard. Gene really means it and so does Roger. So freaking cool. Thanks for posting!

  • Genuine talent doesn't need elaborate production or expensive recording studios.

    God bless you, Gene Clark.

And may you live to be a hundred, Roger Mcguinn.

  • Magnificent!

  • this is a really cool rendition of this tune. i like it :)

  • If I live to be a hundred I'll still be sad that Gene Clark is no longer with us.

  • Wonderful. This is what I love about music - the ability to send a shiver right through me. Gene's rarely sung better.

  • Now that I hear these two giants, I'm thinking, what a great three part harmony with gene, roger aka jim, and the tenor voice of david. It's like listening to angels

  • I'm crying. This one hits really hard. ah, history. Hugs you one minute, suffocates you the next. Gene, the Byrds, Gram Parsons, big part of my spiritual life.
