  • i have a 2 yo daughter and she hates getting her hair done... even when she's asleep (and yo gabba gabba only captures her attention for a few minutes).. do u have any suggestions?

  • @ilovemissmaya At that age I'd only braid into about 4 to 6 sections. I'd do hair on Sundays, so I'd have all day and I'd break the hair session up into smaller chunks. I'd start with 2 braids, tie the rest up and then we'd take a break. I'd give her a "treat" for sitting still ( a few yogurt covered raisins) and let her run around for a bit. Then I'd do another 2 braids.. and so on. After a while we'd do 4 braids and then take a break. Working our way up to with no breaks. :)

  • Thank you so much for this video! I wish I had seen it 7 years ago. As a Latina mom to my two half Jamaican girls, this video has changed my life! We hated hair washing day :(. Today, there were no tears no screams! I actually enjoyed washing their hair! Bless you!

  • Your daughter is an absolute doll, love you both! I've put my daughters hair into the hands of hair stylists since she was 3 years old, she is now 8 yrs. old. I am now taking care of her hair myself because they have cause so much damage to her hair; thin ends and breakage. I have a lot of great natural products, but the breakage isn't stopping. I've tried everything! I will be pre-shampoo detangling her hair and washing it as you have instructed for now on but how do I stop the breakage?

  • My daughter's hair is NOT as soft as your daughter's. Don't know if all this will work for us, but we'll try. Thanks for the vid. Going to show it to my daughter so it will get her in the mood (she cries at the very idea of getting her hair done).

  • I'm going to use the prewashing tips and the how to shampoo tips you've given here. I think they will help. But do you think they will help keep her ends from being so dry (ends were recently clipped and it seemed that made it worse; my daughter is 4-- just in case that's impt)

  • My daughter's hair is SOOOOOO thick and it's more the ends of it that are thick. IMy hairdresser took a look at her hair and suggested it is best suited for braiding. We did that for a while and like it; but we are dirt poor and having her hair done twice a month, or even once a month was breaking our budget. So now I press it. BUT every two days, it seems like I didn't do a thing to it. Plus she fiddles in it; always taking her bows and bands out (she has ADHD). Any other suggestions?

  • your mom and is like my nana lol..."all we used in my day was catro oil and dax" lol

  • love your name and accent--the go together lol also love the mother act ,,thxx for the vid and i am totally jelous of your and your daughters hair mine isnt long mine is thick!

  • your accent is to DIE FOR! this is coming from an american :P lol

  • Love it! I'm going to try it this weekend. I dread washing my girls' hair. We usually "outsource" hair because there is just too much stress involved.

I'll give your method a try.

You and your girls are beautiful.

  • Love your videos, what a beautiful woman you are with beautiful children.

    I like you!
