@dkruitz I was just at an outboard store and the new motors, even 3.5hp ones, were selling for over $1000 and it's Chinese crap. They made things to last 50 years ago!!! I'd take one of those any day...

@Genners111 $700??? go to aomci.org (antique outboard motor club) and tell 'em you're looking to spend $700 on a 7.5HP Evinrude, you'll get about 50 offers to sell. They're simply not worth that much unless it's been immaculately restored, and even then I'm not sure about that.
