"Pyongyang Pansong-imnida"
Pyongyang Broadcasting Station.

you can see the Hungarian local time on the top of the display (UTC+1 in Winter)
the correct frq. is 6400 khz, but its varying from 6398 to 6400. Very unstable transmitter!

RX: Sangean ATS-909
QTH: Siofok, Hungary
Ant.: 6m longwire

this is a domestic station in North Korea, thats why it is very difficult to receive here.

  • Do they have RDS SYSTEM in North Korea?

  • @SelfHerbalist No :) I entered the name myself.

  • When I last visited my sister in South Korea, we drove up in her car to the rural areas near the border with North Korea. We had this crap playing out of the car stereo. Creepiest experience in my life - Looking over the line into that wasteland of a country up there and hearing this bitch's hollering come out of the speaker.

  • @stephanienyc1 What frequencies did you heard?

  • Oh my, 'Pyongyang' is misspelled as 'Pyongang'. xD

  • @SanMiguelBeer1890 Because Sangean have only 8 digits :P

  • So no media? You mean like the radios and televisions in their houses that only play State stations and can be turned down but never turned off? hmmm.....

  • Is that receiver modified somehow, or do they sell these with blue backlight?

I have one of these myself and I just love it. :)

  • TETRIS AT BEGINNING OF VIDEO

  • so creepy, i feel so bad for these people who live in North Korea. I hope they can someday join the rest of the world and contribute something to it. Look at South Korea they have a booming economy and a good quality of life, it could be this way for the North too.

  • @kevinunderscorevance They have radar jammers set up across the DMZ...

  • @Luc1f3rk0 Ah, that's why, I see :)
