i love bastardizing melodies and chord progressions too

it is incredibly hard to raise a point against arrangement and have it be well received on their forums because the community is basically a foster home of arrogant, mildly talented people that are way too quick to defend each other (and their "remixes") and wave away points made by newcomers

at ocremix, seniority is credibility

more accurately, cronyism.

seniority really has nothing to do with it.

This would be kind of funny if it didnt just seem like you are angry about being rejected.

Remixes arent rearrangements. However, I do prefer rearrangements over remixes, since a lot of the times I cant tell what song its based on. There is a lot of good rearrangements on OC Remix however.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but you're absolutely right. If I'm not mistaken, this is the first time an intelligent counter-argument has ever been made in OCR's defence.

Not a single instance of false accusation, ridiculous assumption, or immature name-calling.

Is this The Twilight Zone?

I was reading through my old comments that I ignored and I noticed this one.

When did I ever say OCR's songs are the same as MIDIs? I said OCR's songs don't sound anything like the originals at all because the production value is rewarded more highly than the actual remix.

It's like The Matrix. Take away all the flashy effects and it's absolute crap.

Just like all the other music I make, I tend to forget to back it up and lose it. You win an Internet for actually remembering my remix, but I'm taking it back since you called it a "weak copy".

I would have had absolutely no problem with my mix being rejected, but it wasn't even judged. Instead, I got a "no" override and an accusation of plagiarism.

Also, are you saying all of the Overclocked ReMix staff has seen my video? Well, then, I declare a mission accomplished.

As I said, the interpretation factor with your submission was non-existent. The rhythms, instrumentation and tempo were all the same. It didn't matter whether you made it yourself, as copying a MIDI would have achieved the same result.

And if you mean, have all the OverClocked ReMix staff seen your video and laughed at how ignorant it was coming from a bitter newbie who had no idea OC ReMixes aren't verbatim covers & don't require Hollywood sound quality, then, yes, mission accomplished! :-D
