just do what the UP employees did in the 80s, light the motherf*ckers on fire and then they'll get you a hotel.

This is just another example of how our horrible company treats it's employees..

Worked on the railroad 25 years, I loved the Southern. Norfolk Southern sucked,I took the buy. Try sleeping with trains going by we would blew the whistle just to wake everybody. Hit a trackworker at Harriman Tn.

I am 30 year ns employee who has lived in camp cars. this video is nothing compared to how bad the camp cars realy are. NS has testifyed that it would be cheaper to house employees in hotels but their employees couldn't servive in hotels. They couldn't take care of themselves. NS supervisors stay in hotels and have no problems finding hotels.

Wow I feel bad for these guys they work hard and deserve better living conditions than this! I am a fan of the CSX and i always here how terrible they are and that NS is so much better. This def blows anything i've heard about CSX out of the water!

I thought they were kidding when they told me camp cars were bad, after seeing this I think it is a joke you would call it bad, this is inhumane. NS is too cheap to care about making things descent, I give it a year and camp cars will be gone. I saw some the other day that looked like they were headed for the 'hot saw'. About trains passing, I can't see how you can complain about that, it's a railroad, I get 50 a day in my parts. I do respect, and MoW crews do a fine job.
So if Norfolk Southern is the only railroad that houses people in camp cars, how do other railroads house employees when working in remote locations?Does anyone know how that works?

They house them in local motels/hotels. Workers are also paid from the time they board the bus to take them to the work site, until the time they return.
