I would do this with a non-Touhou character, but even Touhou characters (edits in particular) will be having extreme difficulty taking on this opponent I'm fighting today. Speaking of which, I had to fix Komachi's MBAA portrait with Fighter Factory when I first got this updated version (might want to check out that problem, Ricepigeon. The MBAA portrait showed pitch black ingame, even though it shows fine in Fighter Factory).

Today's opponent is Kefka by EN, and an actual recreation of the entire final battle from Final Fantasy 6. Even each of the tiers have their own full range of attacks from the game as well, even attacks which aren't very fair in a fighting engine...

Yes, unfortunately this fight isn't even fair for a whole lot of balanced characters, so going into this fight expecting it to be fair isn't happening. To even win it, you'll actually have to pull off your character's dirtiest tricks if they are a balanced character. Each part has unavoidable unblockables, unblockables, OHKOs, and attacks which can impair your character's fighting performance and even set them up to getting KOed faster. I can't describe fully in one sentence, so I shall describe each tier in greater detail below.

Tier 1, mostly uses the standard attacks that can be blocked, and defensive spells. It also has two unavoidable or hard to avoid moves (one of them being used if the head is taken out after both hands are taken out). Tier 1 has a OHKO which is easy to avoid, but finding out when this tier is going to use it is much more difficult if you can't recognize the text accompanying it (it's all in japanese) before the attack starts. It also has a move which simulates the front row and back row stuff in the Final Fantasy games, by making you do less damage when it's used once, and then reverts back to normal damage the second time it is used. Second easiest part of the whole fight.

Tier 2 is where things start to get more sour. More undodgable unblockable attacks, and the OHKO for this tier is even HARDER to avoid than in the first tier. This tier can also use time based magic which consists of "Stop" (freezes you in place, leaving you open to getting attacked over and over again to even getting KOed), and "Slow" which slows down your overall speed (not good either). It even has magic which halves or even quarters your current health in one swoop. One of the parts of the tier will even attack 10 times in a row with a physical attack before it finally dies if you happen to take off all it's HP.

Tier 3 is either easy or hard depending on how it's done. It uses an unavoidable full screen attack, and uses a warped skull magic spell that basically counts down to 0 which if it does, then it's a OHKO for your character. It also uses a meteor shower move which is the only move which doesn't rely on throw-basedness (all attacks have some sort of thing where it 'grabs' you first then attacks you, and checks to see if you're blocking depending on the attack). Part of the tier also heals every turn (and this bit is immune to supers and in fact, gets healed by them), and must be taken out first (taking out the attacker causes it to be resurrected to full health at some point). Upon finishing this tier, it does a last-ditch OHKO which is avoidable, before finally dying and allowing you to go to the final part of the battle.

Kefka himself is laughably easy. For some reason, he lacks the "Goner" move he had in the source game, and all he does is use physical attacks, any of the level 3 elemental magics, or "Fallen One" in which it causes your fighter's health to go down all the way to 1 HP. And of course, that's it. Once you get to Kefka, you will have very little trouble avoiding his attacks and countering him, meaning he's the easiest part of the whole battle!

I'll let this video explain how I manage to pull through with this. However, feel free to challenge him yourself if you want. Just be warned: He's not easy, and he doesn't play fair, even for a boss type.

  • There's some serious flaws compared to the FF6 version. Where are the two other themes, from the 2nd and 3rd tiers? And where is the Golden Sky when God Kefka appears? If you can find a version of Dancing mad Kefka with all those details, I would be very happy.

  • Wow, Komachi sounds annoying ASS fuck.

  • @legohms i found this character fun but it isnt very strong

  • where can i download kefka?

  • Nice =D

  • I did not find this character to be fun to fight at all.

Also, that is a pretty in depth description you got there.
