The 5th All Japan Kendo 8-Dan holder's Invitational Tournament was held at Nakamura sport center in Nagoya on 15th April 2007.

全日本選抜剣道八段優勝大会とは
本大会は平成１４年まで「明治村剣道大会」として行われた剣道八段戦を本連盟が継承し 、平成１５年に第１回大会を主催しました。
全国５００余名の八段受有者の中から、受有後５年を経た６５才以下に該当する１００余 名が抽出され、さらに選考委員会において厳選された心技ともに円熟した３２名によって 行われるトーナメント方式の大会です。
