Welcome to my new series, Obscure DOS Games!

Our first game is Pickle Wars, an old shareware platformer by MVP Software. It ain't exactly what you'd call state-of-the-art, especially in 1993. The graphics are OK, the gameplay's not all that exciting, and the music... yeah.

If you want to try it out, go here. http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/download/game/117

  • @llamaboy1688 Oh and

    RATS NO SALAD

  • I remember downloading this off of the Kid's Only AOL channel when I was about seven or eight years old. It took FOREVER on our 28.8 modem...I remember the music...oh god...I wanted to play it for like three months before I got a chance to download it.

It made me not want to download shareware anymore.

  • @bobinator1992 Episode #1 is free at redwoodgames. com. the rest are still sold.

  • This game was the shit.

  • I played this game so many times as a kid. And boy, am I glad that my old DOS computer didn't support music. :3

  • You can buy the game from Karen Chun's (formerly Crowther) website...

  • Also, the annotation commentary is definitely superior to the usual option of humourless and nasal failed snark.

  • The music sounds like... insanity.
