Fil - I LOVE this !!! Not just your playing (which completely delights me), but the sheer joy you exhibit. Some of the notes you're hitting are ones that I'd completely forgotten about. But come to London and I'll show you the original fingering and positions for what I *do* recall :-)
Bravissimo, Maestro.
...ciao for now

@ejrandall This is something that may be sort of rare: when the ORIGINAL, "STAR" Guitar player comments on a cover. Everyone, PLEASE welcome Mr. Elliott Randall himself. The Man who PLAYED this part on THIS recording. Looking forward to being back in London with you Sir. Should be around February. Can't wait. But for now, warm hugs and saying "thank you" is just an understatement... yours always, Fil!

Every time I see a new video from you, you just nail whatever you do and you have all of these wonderful guitars and amps. So glad I came across your youtube channel.

Nice coat! I especially like the fact that your feet have 1.5 inch of free moving space

@SoloFilDallas lol, I bow to your knowledge Maestro
Hi Fil, any chance you could let us know what pedals you're using on this track? Sorry to ask but I'm a bit of a pedal freak. Excellent job, as always \m/

@billyblunt63 Sure thing mate. Well, it is basically that '60s Strato on a 1959 Marshall via a treble booster, one of those tri booster things. I really used the treble booster to try and punch the 1959 and get that scorching sound you hear on Mr. Randall's tone. Additionally, I was using the Schaffer Vega Diversity (please check my site to know what it is) but no boost, just some compression. The chorus was added in post, it's a stereo tremolo!

@SoloFilDallas Thanks for the info Fil. That set up sounds really sweet & you've nailed the tone spot on, especially the driven intro. I always wondered if it was a tube screamer or fuzz pedal on the original recording but now it all makes perfect sense with the treble booster pushing the Marshall.

@billyblunt63 Big pleasure. Please keep in mind that the original was played with different gear. The guitar was a '63 Strato, but with an humbucker in the neck. Additionally, no boost was used. Mr. Randall was given an Ampeg tube amp, I presume a bass amp that was driven to maximum. As simple as that! No tricks at the time... ;)

@SoloFilDallas of course your right about the gear & its all in the fingers \m/

@billyblunt63 Oh thank you but no, no. I don't believe anymore in "all in the finger" thing. I think it's BOTH in finger AND gear!!!! Thank you
