The 400-year old village of Taxia is located in a valley and built along the banks of a clear stream that flows through the entire village. There is an extremely narrow road that runs between the stream and village jammed with big tour buses that could barely negotiate this stretch.
Taxia has more than 20 earthen buildings of different shapes, some with rooms to rent for the night while others serve meals. The residents believe in living a relaxed and leisurely life style evidenced by the amount of spirited maj jong games taking place along this stretch. Don't forget to take a walk up above the village to Zhang's Clan Ancestral Hall while in Taxia and, if you are squeamish, ask them not to kill your fresh, chicken lunch in front of your eyes!
@Bournetolive Thanks so much for the information. Agriculture is really not my strongpoint! Thanks for taking your time to watch and enlighten me! Best regards, Travels With Sheila

I don't know if you know this, but those root plants at 1:22 are not sweet potato - they are taro.
