A group of local entrepreneurs said they wanted Obama to see "the promise" of the city and to invest in its "reinvention."
The group said they will send a multi-media message to Obama.
"We're going to be running a full-page ad in the Times Picayune (on Thursday), hopefully driving President Obama and a lot of other people to a website," said Chris Schultz, of Launch Pad. "We're putting together the website right now as we speak and it will be live (Thursday) morning with messages on it."
Schultz said the campaign to collect messages for Obama was done through popular social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
"This is a message from the doers," he said. "This is a message from the people in New Orleans who are entrepreneurs, who are actually going to lead us and lead the country forward."
