@ngiyaxolisa Yeah, I have seen that performance many times...part of it is in the film "The Kids Are Alright" and I think the complete performance is included in the DVD documentary "Amazing Journey".
-
@ngiyaxolisa No, it was written by Townshend.

OK, don't make me dig out this album. Isn't this an Entwhistle tune, lyrics and music?

@Nuttybott And don't forget the Rolling Stones with that "Rock and Roll Circus" thing. The Stones were great in concert, but The Who had just come off an outstanding tour and the Stones were simply "coasting" on their reputation. What happened? The Who ruled The Stones so bad with "A Quick One", that Jagger, Richards, and Co refused to release the video. Check out that live performance!

@Nuttybott You are entitled to your opinion, there's nothing wrong with that.Music is a matter of preferance.Yes,I agree that the Beatles peaked around the Rubber Soul Revolver period.Rubber Soul is my personal favorite.Rubber Soul,Revolver,Sgt.Pepper,White Album,or Abbey Road can all be considered as the greatest album in pop rock music.Revolver was voted greatest album, the song In My Life was voted the greatest song ever written. Here,There, and Everywhere is considered the most beautiful song

@Nuttybott ...then again, my personal favourite music from the 60's is the raw n' crude early punk/garage rock to be found on compilation sets such as Nuggets, Pebbles and Teenage Shutdown. Now that is REAL authentic rock & roll! So it is little wonder I prefer the early smash-'em-up Who sound to the more polished, mannered music of the Beatles and their ilk.
Who's the best at creating awesome rock songs?
Pete Townshend!
Who's the best at voicing these songs?
Roger Daltrey
Who's the best at creating awesome rhythms for these songs?
John Entwistle and Keith Moon!
Combined they form the greatest band of the '60's/'70's!
