In which Paul confuses everyone whilst trying to explain how to transpose chord sequences.

EXTRA CLARIFICATION:
For guitarists - transposing chords down (anti-clockwise round the wheel) the same number of frets as you moved the capo up the guitar neck produces the same sound with (hopefully) easier chord shapes.

For other instrument players - don't feel abandoned! Transposing is a useful tool for any musical instrument and is still totally applicable to you. Just ignore all the stuff about capos.

  • i just started playing guitar. I bought a chord chart to learn stuffs and then I made a copy of it so that I could write notes on top of it. I remembered this video, looked it up and added the transposing chart to the back of my chord chart

  • No... but that may be because WWE isn't big in the UK at all. Hang on, I'll Wikipedia it

    *wikipedia's it*

Nope, sorry - apart from the fact we have the same colour hair and sorta similar facial hair I just don't see it.

(But thanks for breaking from the clichéd options of Simon Pegg or Rowan Atkinson :P)

  • hahah.

    yeah...

it is the circle of fifths.

it is actually a little bit different than your wheel...but meh.

same basic concept...except it is in fifths instead of half steps. so you know the key of every major and minor key and you know the "closely related" keys that transposing to is nice.

  • Hold the phone - the Wheel of Transposition has a proper musical name?? I honestly just came up with it off the top of my head.

  • "Tabs" as I know them would refer to guitar-based sheet music (each line is a guitar string and you have numbers to represent fret positions).

  • On a website called Zazzle. The design page is rather buggy but you can make some pretty cool stuff if you have the patience ;)

  • oh k, cool.

    THANKS :D

  • Sometimes, I get stupidly excited about things, and I got stupidly excited about talk of transposition when I saw the title of this video. XD

We used to transpose melodies to different instrument keys in band and it was oddly fun.

  • has anyone ever told you that you look like christian from say, 2003/2004 wwe.

  • o0o0o0o0oh I SEE! 0.0
