Lawrence Olivier. No one can match his acting. How powerful!
-
@kevinastraw It could be he's exaggerating his frailty a little for the part.

What a Genius!! If an italian workman like me can understand his Talent it means he was really BIG.

the is act 2 scene 4...

You are simply too stupid to understand Shakespeare.

For me Rigg is the star here. So mean, in a cruel and calculated fashion. Olivier doesn't convince! Blasphemy I know. I prefer Corin Redgrave, Kika Markham, Geraldine James radio version. Unmatched IMO.

reason not the need.

This has to be the best cast ever assembled for a Shakespeare film, at least one made for televison.

i'm new to olivier, and utterly hooked... riveting

Wow. Olivier was pitch-perfect there. I don't know his age or health at the time that scene was filmed, but he was eerily authentic when acting the King at his most frail and anguished.

God is a mythical character and Laurence was an uncommonly talented actor.
