This is a 1974 cb 360 my dad and i chopped. I am just finishing some of the weakpoints of the hardtail. You cant see the weld very well because of the sulfur from the self shielding wire. But i like it :)

  • lil bit too much wire feed, thats why u hear it a little bit intermittent at times. i have to be careful with fluw cored (self sheilding wire) there pretty shit. they dont penetrate as well. im guessing u have finished it now or close too? hows it all going

  • yeah, ive learned quite a bit since i took the vid. One of the things i learned was, dont build a bike without a jig!!!! damn.... Im rebuilding it now with the welders at my tech school.

  • 110 gives enough output to penetrate the weld fully?

  • i hope. :) i just hope im not runnin 50 when a wed brakes.

  • very good man im happy about this well succeeded

  • Thanks, were proud of it.

  • I would seriously consider having the frame Tig welded instead of Mig..just my 2 cents

  • @jburgesswb flux get better penetration. we use self shielded with 75-25 gas in structual circumstances. do a little more research. it sounds like a cheap welder though. check the heat lines to be even and you can tell when your getting penetration. . .

  • where did you guys buy your tubing?

  • You might want to tack the frame where you want it and then take it in too have it tig welded.

  • more videos pleasee.

  • couldn't see the weld because of the slag, a wire brush and a slag hammer would have cleaned that right up, glad ur doing this and glad ur taking tech classes. you;ll be tigging or GTAW in no time. keep it coming

  • how safe is that? I mean, can you ride not thinking about losing your tail and nuts?

  • i have a 110 welder and it will weld .25 of a inch it burns hot
