if a car is at a higher rpm and you let off and keep it in gear you can spin a bearing to i know someone who has done it

@vibrant93 It's not. It's a good way to stretch rod bolts, and put further stress on everything else in the motor. I throw my car in neutral after the stripe too. It's not hard to stop after the pass.. Even after a 130+mph pass in my car.

Great shifting and launch! Looking at the times you posted, out of the hole it's pretty quick... time to focus on opening up the top end on that baby!

@FoxBodyMike87 It's a Victor EFI with a 90mm throttle body, and 80mm maf.

Whats worse;launching or engine brking at the right time?

@AuAsEz Either way no one wants an engine to break. But personally I'd much rather have mine let go on a launch vs. at 120+ mph at the big end of the track. Just saying.

Why put it in Neutral n not use the engine to also slow you down,to each is there own I guess.

@AuAsEz It's mostly habit. I usually kill the engine right after the stripe and pull/read a plug on the return road. Although I've never understood the whole let the engine slow the car down theory either. Please explain how that's good for anything internally within the engine, especially in a 5 speed car.

Great run buddy, keep it up!! I wonder if you can find 100lbs to remove from the car to break into the 10s!
BTW what gears are you running? sounded and looked like 4.10s or 4.56?

@bttawfiq Thanks! Yeah I'm sure there's some more weight in the doors and other interior parts but I really don't want to gut the car. I did get a 10 out of it once so I was content with that.
It's got a 4.56 gear in it.
