And you were quite right, the GT120 is not even close to the 4870 in terms of performance.

I think you missed the point. Check my comment @ 4:38
I specced the Custom i7 to a 4870, since it is the best card you can spec the Mac Pro to. And then I showed how much a Mac Pro will cost if you spec it up to the same as the custom i7.

Are you actually comparing GT 120 with HD4870? Are you serious? If you multiply GT120's horse power by 4 maybe!

Even if you add the cost of an Apple Magic Mouse and Apple keyboard (total $118) the custom rig is still ALOT cheaper.
