JU188/388
The Ju 188 was a German World War II high-performance medium bomber from Junkers, the planned follow-on to the famed Ju 88 with better performance and payload. It was produced only in limited numbers, due both to the presence of improved versions of the Ju 88, as well as the deteriorating war condition and the resulting focus on fighter production
The Junkers Ju 388 "Störtebeker" (a famous German pirate of the Middle Ages) was a World War II heavy fighter based on the famous Ju 88 airframe through the Junkers Ju 188 development. It was introduced very late in the war, and production problems and the general war conditions meant few were delivered.

  • @nolifemerc Well, yes and no. The dorsal turret gun had an interrupter mechanism that shut the gun down if it ever pointed at the plane's own fuselage. We are talking split-seconds here, too, in terms of stoppages in the ammo feed and cocking, as inevitably the gun would cross the path of the plane's body during movement from time to time, The Me 210/410 Hornet had the same gear.

  • singel tail block the gunner.

  • Great plane!
