What did you expect them to do? For all they know, the glitch could have been fixed any moment. Its only with hindsight that we know it lasted 27minutes.

Yes, "pool audio", or a "pool feed" in broadcast parlance, is coverage of a news event furnished by one network, but is shared and used by other networks as well, as if in a "pool".
