Thanks for getting back to me Richard. I've enjoyed your music - do you write your own material as well as playing standards? If so, that would be good to hear.

Hi Richard, very nice playing - I admire your hybrid picking style. I am quite interested in getting the KA Floating Single Coil for my archtop and it certainly sounds good on your L4. Do you find that you get any noise or hum from it? I notice that Kent Armstrong says it's designed to minimise hum but I guess it's bound to be noisier than a humbucker all the same - what do you find?

-- no noise issues at all. On this guitar the pickup is grounded to the bridge, but I have another guitar with the same pickup where it is not. Still no problems.

Love the arrangement and the tone. Are you using the 7 ohm or 11 ohm setting on the pickup?

Your tone with the L-4 and KA single coil is divine (not to mention your touch on the instrument!). And I know how elusive archtop tone can be. I have a couple of acoustic L-5s and an L-12. Always agonizing, so I mostly play 'em acoustically!
