The 2009 Reel Program from Sage was centered on a tenacious desire to develop and deliver reels that live up to the Sage rod legacy. The new series of Sage Reels consists of a whopping 24 models, all designed with innovation and solid reliability in mind. These reels have been tested hard both in the R&D lab by Sage's own Materials Scientists and Engineers and in the field by hard-working professional fly fishing guides.

  • Sage Reels are nice but it is hard to beat a Galvan!!!

  • These guys make great fly rods, so I hope these new fly reels measure up..

  • im getting a sage reel soon. i think im gonna get a 2000 series for sea run brook trout.

  • they look nice but i always like the look of small or mid arbor reels, due to proportion sizes

  • I wonder if they've improved how much drag they have for an 8 wt model.

I've always luv'd the look of Sage reels, but they just never had enough drag for me - ie. fishing 8 wt rods for salmon / steelhead.

If they've finally given these reels the drag range of a Galvan Torque or a Ross Canyon, then I may consider them.

    Thanks for posting the vid.
