Making corn dogs at home is a fun and festive thing to do for parties! Better than the frozen ones you buy at the store and almost as easy!

INGREDIENTS * 1 cup cornmeal * 1 cup all-purpose flour * 1 teaspoon salt * 1 teaspoon baking powder * 1/4 teaspoon baking soda * 1 cup cream-style corn * 1/3 cup finely grated onion * 1 cup buttermilk (plus a teeny bit more if needed) * 4 tablespoons cornstarch, for dredging * Hot dogs * Shortening or peanut oil to fry * Wooden skewers

Makes 14 corndogs
