Rewind 30 years... Bob Yannes enters the scene and introduces a new soundchip for a new home computer... the C64...

A few decades later... TK. builds a DIY SID synthesizer, without the need for a C64....

This video is about how it sounds... besides the Machinedrum (for percussion) and a virtual piano, no other synths and sounds were used... only a delay fx has been added.

Everything is sequenced and mixed live. If you are interested in this synth, visit www.midibox.org. Thanks to TK. and Wilba and all MIDIbox users for wonderful hardware and a great time :-)

Greets and thanks for watching,
Hawkeye/Maelstroem

  • REAL SID ruleZ ! But it needs ARTISTS like you! GREAT!

  • @curritmotrance thx - you´re right about the raw SID power, the soundchip is a real masterpiece - it can sound like a ´99 virus, it can sound like some late-70s atari arcade machine :)

  • Sounds awesome! What's the reverb fx used?

  • @kidata Thanks! It was a Jomox T-Resonator in "defensive" mode (it can go really wild, if you want :-))

  • cool
