I think both Curry or Jackson would've worked. As Pioli said they had a pool of talent to select at the number 3 pick. After their deliberations they decided that Jackson, while maybe seeming a bit of a reach, would fit best into their 3-4 defense.

Dorsey is going to become a great end, and Jackson may not get that many sacks, he can do his job in the 3-4 and help the team. I like the pick, it adds a solid player to the line the Chiefs need.
