Yes I am sure you would or could be a better Senator. Just curious. How is a committed, hard working, articulate, intelligent Senator with strong morals, an embarrassment to Utah?

Thanks Mike so much for representing us!

  • @bubbles7665 And stop overstepping simple solutions.

  • Mike Lee ...you are an embarrassment to Utah!

  • Deficit spending leads to long term pain for short term benefit. Balancing the budget leads to short term pain for long term benefit. these are not a binary relationship, instead there is a continuum between this short term gain and long term gain. Within this continuum there is a optimal solution. the question should be, "what is the best breakdown between long term deficit reduction and short term spending to lead to the fastest recovery." People have to stop oversimplifying problems.

  • @mjjenness I'm sorry your jobs are threatened, but you are not alone, and government jobs should not be immune from being threatened. Everyone's jobs are threatened. The mere idea that your family is more entitled to their job than others who aren't employed in government is repulsive. We don't need even more unprofitable government spending to increase the employment in our country. Government never creates profit - it never contributes to the GDP. This new jobs bill can't create more jobs

  • Please support the Jobs legislation proposed by President Obama and stop this political posturing! We need to work together as hasn't been done this year; we are in crisis. More than half of our family is either teaching or in construction and jobs are threatened. Help us, please!

  • Obama is driving policy from the failed FDR playbook. FDR put the 'great' in the Great Depression. Stop the wars, stop the deficit spending, reform entitlements and privatize them as much as possible. We have too many people living off the confiscated wealth of others, the system is collapsing.

Funny how people like you seem to think Bush is still president. He hasn't been in office for years now. What matters now is what Obama is doing.

You accuse Republicans of turning a blind eye to Bush's sins, yet you do the same thing with Obama's sins by continuing to deflect the discussion to what Bush did years ago. Obama was elected to change what Bush did, yet has perpetuated pretty much all that Bush did and made it worse.

"It's Bush's fault" just doesn't cut it anymore.

  • @JoeCool101 Obama has continued Bush's policies for the most part - war and spending. Loyal Republicans defended Bush while loyal Democrats rightly attacked him. However when Obama came to power and continued Bush's nonsense, Democrats said nothing while Republicans went on the attack. This is the trap of thinking party, not policy. There are new people in Congress who are thinking policy over party and demanding a change in our national course. More spending will not save America.
