  • @CichliDaqi Yeah, they are tough little africans. Just like Kenyi's and Auratus's.

Dhonti's need different water parameters than CA/SA cichlids.

  • @MonitorSpiderCichlid You have probably NEVER kept dhontis.

I agree with your list, but just because dhonti is small (up to 6 inches) it doesn't mean that they are weak.

I had 5 ins dhonti male that dominated 2 Oscars (10-12 inches), Jack Dempsey (6 inches) and 5 inches Jewel cichlid.

Now think HOW aggressive that is?

  • @CichliDaqi dhonti? Your stupid. They are mean and can do some serious damage but when it comes to confidence they have none. Look at the midas. Midas's have small mouths and large nuchal humps. But because they have so much confidence they are up top.

Istlanum, Trimac, Grammodes, butti, and dovii's are the toughest.

  • @jacksonjones402

hes talking to his son dumbass

  • @TacTiCCodPlayer Also, every fish differs. Temperament differs from specimen to specimen.

And one more thing. The most powerful of all cichlids for it's size is Telmatochromis dhonti. ANYONE who have kept them will tell you the same thing.

It is common for other fish to lose their jaws while lip locking with T. dhonti.

  • @TacTiCCodPlayer So many people here keeps mbunas, and i also tried keeping them.

I tried putting adult male of both auratus and carleus while dovii was 1 inch smaller and the result was the same - dovii killed them within few days. Mbuna bite and chase, but when it comes to lip lock, they both got fucked up.

Butti stands no chance with dovii. Dovii is capable of tearing small fish in half. Butti just dont have so powerful teeth and mouth. Tried that combination few times.

  • @CichliDaqi Are you insane? ok, fine. The dovii will win because of there massive size when full grown but, if they were the SAME SIZE no doubt the butti would rip the dovii to shreds!

If all cichlids were the same size and fought, nothing will beat the 5 star general(5 spot jewel).

Butti's are kept with mbuna's because they are too fast. Another thing, buy a dovii around 3-4 inches and buy an auratus or kenyi the same size. You will be shocked how strong mbuna's are.

  • Bass would eat them

  • @RealRapMusic101 Both fish can beat Large Mouth Bass 2 times their size without a problem.
