This is the first video of me riding my own horse...so be kind. This is me riding my big, and frequently lazy (I love him anyway), Percheron/ TB cross. Please no nasty remarks...thay will only be deleted. Constructive criticism from those knowledgeable enough to give it is welcome.

  • The saddle I used in this video was a collegiate with the gullet system - it worked fine fitting him, but I did not get the close contact I get with my 2003 Tad Coffin. And the T C fits his withers fine also. Older T C saddles have a wide tree...new ones are different I think though. I have to say though...many people have ridden him with all different types of saddles and there has never been a problem.

  • he doesnt look lazy, it pisses me off at least you can get your horse to canter, mine wont and i have to stick a fuckin 3 foot jumps, coz she so lazy, but i think your a great rider (:!

  • what size tree do you use on him for that english saddle?

  • Yes he is lazy and the canter goes no were:) your lower leg swings nawn stop and your uper body tilts forward alot around corners. Who cares? Your learning one step at a time that's all you can do then things will fall in place...work with out strips is good but hard work grate for balance! x

  • taken on my bday :)

  • ok who cares how she rode the horse if your giving advice to someone that already has a trainer your the one who needs some advice and here is some SHUUT UP

  • Who ever said to grip with your knee is wrong. Consistent contact through the thigh, a soft and supple knee and contact throughout the lower leg. More important than a jammed down heel is where the leg is at the girth (Stirrup leather perpendicular to the ground) is more important than a heel down. NEVER grip your knee. Grippng at the knee will cause you to pivot at the knee, thus throwing your lower leg back and then often causing a "jumping ahead" of the horse movement.

  • so cute!!!! :) good work ;D
