@Tanker60a3 LOL! THAT IS SOOOOOOOOO TRUE! WE JUST PLAYED A PIECE BY PERCY GRAINGER LAST NIGHT!
-
@Tanker60a3 I've played this and Lincolnshire Posy twice each within the last 3 years.

Double tonguing...boo...and I was a bassoonist. You know how hard it is to double tongue on a bassoon as a high schooler? This one was one my favorites, though. We had some amazing french horns who knew how to rip it like nothing else.

Ah jeez.......not required by law, just a great work. When it comes to wind bands we are limited to really great works......this just happens to be one of the best, along with anything Persichetti, Chance, Holst, Graniger and yes Sousa........we all pay our dues! Just enjoy :)

Tanker60a3 You are so right! lol
Heh, did anyone in band for the last 50 years NOT play this? I think it's required by law, along with Folk Song Suite and anything by Percy Grainger.
