Dude, lots of people use the one up one down setup with two crashes and a ride, it's not like Travis Barker invented it.
-

dude those drums sound freakin awesome!!! i had the chance to check out one of ocdps venice kits at guitar center ans its really good!!! nice loud snare (which im really picky about) along with the second best bass (also picky, first being 20'x20' maple from ddrum) love the kit

those toms are just a thud

ocdp's customer service sucks I had a snare made by them and I really had to wait long times to get a reply from them and besides their quality is not that good, my snares bottom edges are uneven which make it really hard to tune right...
OCDP IS CRAP, just look in forums many people have had the same problem or worse than mine

It's all a matter of preference man. The 5000 is considerably cheaper, although the 9000 have alot more adjustability and features. If I had too choose between the two, I'd go for the 9000 (for obvious reasons) it can do pretty much everything the 5000 can, and then some. But if you're looking to save a couple dollars, then I'd say go ahead and pick up the 5000!! Both are fantastic pedals either way. =]
