Special: Sailor Moon - Another Story (SNES) - Endings 1/3

BEWARE: This video contains spoilers! If you want to play this game for yourself, you shouldn't watch this!

The only real good Sailor Moon game I discovered so far. A game that plays in the league of Secret of Mana or Final Fantasy. Based on the japanese animation serie "Bishojo Senshi Sera Mun" (Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon).

It was back in the mid to late 90s when I became addicted to this tv show whose impressions I would seriously mark as a milestone in my therefore young life. Soon enough when it was broadcasted across Germany and after watching a few episodes I began to record any episode and movie on video, buying several music CDs and fan magazines (still have all of these) and later on I was a regular participant of an online fan club that met almost every day in the IRC to chat hour for hour about this show and other upcoming topics.

I don't care what you think about Sailor Moon, if you even know her. Most people knowing about Sailor Moon say it sucks, it is for little girls and babies, it's cheesy, and so on. That's an opinion i can take without problems. Tastes are different, aren't they? In fact the marketing wave that came up really fast made Sailor Moon kinda childish and this was disliked in many serious fan circles across the world however.

Now, since the euphoria has already ended a long time ago, it came to my mind that I never played any Sailor Moon games. I was quite sure there weren't any because it wasn't THAT famous and still only a cartoon from the afar Japan. Who would even care to publish games as the marketing stuff reduced itself to key rings, towels, cups and that typical crap... and then i browsed YouTube and watched some videos about beat'em up games with Sailor Moon.

What can i say.. i don't like these kind of sidescroller games, that might be because i am no fan of arcade games at all - they suck. Okay, I said it.

Then i found this, as I already mentioned, godlike game named "Another Story" on the Super Nintendo.

If you're interested in gameplay videos, there's a guy named mrnygren and he plays this game in real-time right from the beginning to the end - and it's still a long way for him to get to the end of this game.

In my video you are about to witness the ending(s) of this story. Therefore, if you want to play the game for yourself, you should not watch this!

I was on vacation the last ten days and I played only this game after I did the Fester's Quest review.

The story in this game could have filled another season on the tv, as it takes story elements from the show, but in a different context that could happen right after the Sailor Super S series (that's before the Starlights appear).

Video is about 24 minutes long, had to split it up in to three parts.

  • I'm telling you right now: When you are playing Ami's mission: LEVEL GRIND LIKE HELL!!!

Ami vs Nabu: Longest boss fight, EVER!!!!

  • I played this long time ago. Apart from having neat graphics and a kinda intresting story this game hast one BIG flaw. The fights. I remember fighting a boss for 40 Minutes! Why? Because you don't deal much damage to most of the bosses and the fighting animations... well they take up 3/4 of the fight, since they range from 5 seconds to 30 seconds!! yawn....

  • @KevinArcade Fan.

  • @blackm4niac I am so glad I used the ZSNES emulator. Pressing the ~ button allowed gameplay to be, like, majorly sped up.

  • Was this game released in English or is this a translation by a fan?

  • @sailorchibiluna: Colognes restore EP (energy point) all the allies. Manicures increase the damage for an ally's attack. I rarely used Bentousets because they do not restore as much HP as Nigirisets do. Try to purchase as much Bathemedic as possible because they remove all the abnomalities that the enemy has caused to the sailor soldiers such as turning them into stone, using illusion or fascination to make an ally fight beat them. I know this is too late but good luck.

  • I can tell that you did not bother to buy or use accesories such as bracelet, tiara for all sailor soldiers. Why is that so important ? Those useful accessories defends each sailor up to 95% so they will not receive much damage like in this video (only >200 HP). It was not that the evil being was extremely powerful to handle but you failed to aid and protect your Senshi. Sorry but that's the truth.

The bad ending is so much tragic compared to the good ending. T____T

  • LOL, your reaction when they all died..."W-What the FUCK....that was fast >_O"

  • @NeoDonnerHerzen65 Hi! I played this game just recently. In the case of Ami vs Nabu, I had Ami at level 23 :) No Sweat at all but yeah. If you want to fight Nabu and win effortlessly, get Ami at level 20+ :)

  • @ViolinSnowKid no duh she needs all the help she can get holy cow it took me like 10 mins of bashing the same buttion over and over

  • I played this on a computer we had in the house and was finally on Mar's part after FINALLY beating Amy's and then my mom told me she gave the computer away and I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! DX Now I have to start this all over on my laptop T^T I'm trying to get cheats for it, but I can't figure out how to put them on the game >.<

  • @FuckingSailorScout, try to get almost lv14 or lv15
